Demonetization: The other side of story

Social media, access to information (right or wrong) and changing politics has turned us all into critics. Everyone is giving their opinion which they are free to do so and abusing others for their opinion publicly depending on which side they are on which I don’t know how they will justify.  As far as this piece, I know I am giving my opinion as well and turning into a critic and for that call me a HYPOCRITE. Along with all the social change, one thing I am fed of is the logic being used to justify or going against certain changes, bringing references to Indian army in every possible scenario and running away from ground reality. We have created a bubble around us and no one accepts to be in it until they will fall on their face after  the bubble burst.

The situation is not that different in case of a very strong step taken by our PM, “DEMONETIZATION”. Aiming to take a step towards stalling black money growth, it certainly was a huge step and bold move. The thought appeared to be with very good intentions. Personally I appreciate the step. It will make sure that if not all the owners of black money stocks, at least the people who have been invading taxes on their income get penalized for it. The ripple was obvious as it brought tsunami for many, they stared getting rid of the demonetized notes by just throwing it away, shredding it or put their workers in charge for converting some of their black to white which they can keep as black again.

However the step also appears to be politically motivated as it brought a storm for oppositions prior to Uttar Pradesh and Punjab election. However, for me this is not the main concern. Aside to all the tremor it brought, Let us focus on ground which lights up on the fact that this is such an unplanned planned step.

  1. Lot of villages in Bihar, UP, Bengal and other northeast state have still small access to bank and ATM’s forget online banking. My own village has only 1 banks in around 20 km radius. Most of the villagers rely on cash for all the transaction and to get cash of 2000 or 4500 they have to travel for such distance. Farmers, villagers and housewives of semi urban cities life have been tormented by this sudden change and we should not deny this.
  2. This is prime time for agriculture and it has been hit hard. Farmers were about to start sowing wheat and maze and prepare beds for paddy season and the need of cash is something none of us can ignore. Yes government is recent change have stepped up the limit for farmers but when every day is crucial framers are queuing up in banks for days to fulfill their monetary need.
  3. Prime wedding season has also felt the tremor for obvious reasons. While for many it can be a small worry as they have access to online shopping, online payment but a huge population are still unknown to these ways of life. It has taken them a while to plan and execute weddings, collect and loan money and the whole planning going in vain can give anyone a heart attack.
  4. Genuine patients and their families for whom time and money both are crucial are vulnerable to this sudden change. While most part of India government medical institutions are not very reliable and private institution are not taking the old money. Many of those money was saved over a long time  and this step has put them in very tough situation. This is evident from some of the deaths occurred in last few weeks.

If I say that a great plan but with very bad execution and if not bad execution than at least a very bad timing, many of us will agree.

Now the other issue comes when many of us are trying to justify the step and problems incurred due to the change. STOP bringing army, country into everything. I have read statements like

  1. If army can stand at border for all day long why can’t you,
  2. If you say I don’t have black money why should I get troubled than why army should die for you if they don’t have any relation to you and others.

While the service they are providing is commendable and I salute them for that, one should not use them as an example for every situation. As well as it was them who selected to be an army member as their career and they are getting paid for it. I absolutely salute their courage and determination but that should not be used as an example every time to demolish ones opinion.

A lot has been said about the impact on economics and politics so I won’t go into all that but one thing government will face backlash on is the deaths ( patients, farmers and suicides) occurred due to all this and nothing can justify that. Not even the saying that it was all for good cause.

A letter to Sir Modi: Please Come Home!!

Dear Mr Modi Sir,

I am not against you and neither am I saying that you haven’t done anything in 15 Months of your chair time. On many edges you have been amazing, bringing ample amount of funding, convincing foreign investors to be part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign, and building and strengthen relations with foreign governments are few of your many achievements so far. Clean India and opening more than 80 thousand bank account within 100 days of your governance are few steps towards the better India I always hoped for and I can’t thank you enough for these.

However, I feel you have failed on few departments. Yes, it is not possible to see each side in the small term you have been on chair so far. So I will mention here one of the important one. No excuses can justify that no steps has been taken to tackle communal based problems. Sir, we are one of the few secular countries who have been proud of our history, integrity and brotherhood and it is getting hurt every day now. Hate speech from both side and I guess you won’t deny to the fact that some of the speeches are coming from leader of BJP branches are disgusting.

Sir, cleaning starts from home and who knows that better than you, overall you are our Brand ambassador for ‘Swach Bharth Abhiyaan’. So when the campaign will come, where anyone initiating such communal hatred on and off line will be apprehended and brought to justice. When we will see a peaceful India where the spark of 1947 doesn’t appear anymore. I am sure you agree that Godhra, Muzaffarnagar, Dadri are black holes of our social integrity and day by day such incidents will make our society hollow.

When the earning member of family lives far away from home, it doesn’t matter how much money he sends home, he cannot guarantee smooth maintenance of the house hold. So Sir, it is a humble request from me and many others like me, please take a breath from foreign trips and come home. You are our PM before BJP campaigner, you are not only there to earn money for the family but also there to make sure that every family member is getting equal care and food.

Come home Sir and help us Please, make the pillars strong before the house falls and guide us towards a clean and fair society.

One of the citizen

It’s a wish, I want to live!!!

It’s a hope, it’s a Wish,
I want to live a life, with extreme peace,
May this Christmas, and the New Year,
Bring wisdom and integrity,
Among the world and among us,
We don’t want to face other tragedy,
Be it Assam or Peshawar.

It’s a request to the lords of wars,
Call it enough, please take it far,
No innocent should have to give their life,
No one of us want to suffer, let us survive,
Let us be happy with what we have,
Why you do mistakes and we pay the price?

It’s a plea to those, who trample on others,
For a moment of pleasure,
The please will last longer, just try to revive,
Spread smiles, save a life,
Nothing can satisfy more,
Then the smile who just survived!

It’s a wish, I want to live,
In a world with integrity and peace!!!

Stop stereotyping!!!

I was walking, along the road,
A women passes with her child,
She reflexes and steps away,
Points to a bearded man,
Says, he is Muslim, must be terrorist!
She didn’t knew that man,
Is running an orphanage!
I just want to say,
Stop stereotyping!

A girl was walking late,
In sort dress to her home,
Few passer-by whistles at her,
What’s hers situation who cares,
Calls her slut,
They don’t know,
She is only one to feed,
Her brother and mom.
I just want to say,
Stop generalizing!
This is not all,
Every boy who lends his hand to help,
Is not pervert!
Every poor man who you come across,
Is not thief!
Every policemen on the chair,
Is not corrupt!
Don’t stereotype one,
By their race, appearance or position!
Change your mentality,
And the society will change!

Why are we not there yet?

December 2012, it was experienced that the whole India has joined hands against women attacks. Huge protests, new committee to rewrite laws, etc. were the hopes for the women against the fear they lived in. It was believed that there will be rapid drop in the number of rape and murder incidents against women from that moment.

From celebrities to minister, gave their quotes against any of similar incidents. But alas, it has been 18 months and such news still filling up half of the news paper space. The expectation of declination of such incident has dropped exponentially.

Every day we see news which shatters our faith in humanity again and again. The recent incident in UP when two teens were raped and hanged to be found other morning is one of the hundreds of incidents happen every day.

So how far we progressed?

The society moral has not changed yet. The culprits of such insane acts are not only the illiterate ones. Such incidents get support for some authorities like two policemen in UP rape case or leaders like Aasharam who is involved in act of insanity under their white dress. Why are we not there yet?

The security of women is threatened with every such incident and hard steps from authority can only push the psychos to step back and prevent us from such incidents.

Any of such criminals come from the society which we live in. Their confidence is high; they are ready to go up to any extreme; psychologically they are motivated for performing such insanity. Why?

Most likely they were not opposed when they performed their mistake for the first time or they got support from similar psycho who is already involved in such act. They need to be opposed, brought in light with their crime and punished. If they are let go, they will repeat and other life will suffer.

We have to start from home.

  • Talk to your kids (boy or girl) from early age, guide them about wrong and right.
  • Ask your kids to tell you if any sexual or physical assault is conducted even by any relative
  • The person behind crime could be your closest relative or friend, trust your children
  • If you are the victim of someone let the world know, hiding your assault will only encourage the criminal
  • Such crime can happen with a girl or boy so not believing in a boy can lead to a ruined life or evolving criminal of future.
  • Don’t hold to thoughts or instincts and let someone know who can deal with it maturely.

There are other preventive measure can be taken for your and others safety.

We have to build a better India, safer India! Such a country, that makes us proud in every possible. We just don’t want to boast about our education, economy but also a safe village, a safe city and a safer country.

Diminishing AAP: Breaking Dream of a Common Man

Almost A year and half back the shine of changing politics was felt by many concerned citizens when AAP emerged as Political Party. The motto of the party to uproot corruption from society and politics was praised by many around the globe. The inspiration was from some protest against corruption and other social plagues under the leadership of Anna Hazare. Mr Arvind Kejrwal believed that to bring the change from outside will be tougher than cleaning it from inside. He went against many and formed a Political party. However this is all old stories.

AAP emerged as shining star after Delhi election and the performance was just flattering for AAP and the believers. However, some mistakes were made during campaign of election. Promises were made but the time spans promised to fulfil the promises were not realistic. The media and opposition which don’t even care about promises got their chance to stab. The government was under pressure. Being a chief minister he could have dealt with situation more effectively and sensibly but he flowed with emotion and took some worst decision of his newbie political life. The moment of justification were fading too.

He thought that he can pull it off with Loksabha election and took horns with strongest opposition. There was nothing wrong in that but the campaign was very much about complains and it did cost the party. They collapsed like those mediocre marathon runners who try to match steps with professional and collapse midway. The party is failing with their every decision.

Similarly, Arvind is losing it now. While he is trying to make change he also needs to remember that he is not above judicial system and there is a proper process to deal with court related issue. If AAP member are comparing him to Gandhi, then they are making fool of themselves. This is not 1947, and the fight is not the same.

His recent activities after he resigned from post of Delhi CM have provoked the loss of faith towards him from his many supporters. His decisions are immature and some time baseless. I feel, he is making fool of himself in the same global picture where he emerged as shining political star a while back. Moreover, I can sense a bit ego in the party leader, humanly possible after the emphatic win in Delhi. He need to come out and listen to their other party members Like Kumar Viswas. AAP hasn’t lost it all. They are in millions which still have faith in its motto and can see a brighter future for the party but to maintain that, AAP members have to snap out of the dream and face reality.

For now AAP should concentrate on accessing their faults. Take mature decisions and plan their future properly.

A country man willing to see better INDIA

Suicide is not the solution!!!

19 year old engineering student commits suicide; it is not the the first time a student has committed suicide for reason of harassment, failure or love, and for me it is beyond my thoughts to bring the situation and how they dealt with, together.

One of the few reasons students take this extreme step  is failure. Didn’t score very well, fear that parents will scold when they come to know the result or this result won’t help me to achieve anything good; either of that happens and our youths think (actually don’t think) that suicide is the way they can solve it. Nor they will be alive nor will they have to regret for their failure or they wont be here to see how the parents will react.

Hey actually when you even get such thoughts you are adding one other failure in your life. Your this fail may make your parent angry but the step you are thinking about will make them cry for a while but you will lose your importance, you will be counted as loser, ‘One who just didn’t fail in exams/academics but failed in life’.

Love; Girlfriend/boyfriend dumped you, rejected you or cheated on you, on the place of adjusting yourself or evaluating the situation, you think there is nothing left in your life. Cutting of your wrist veins, hanging up yourself, poisoning is the only solution our youth look for. Do you think you deserve to get someone, no one wants a loser as their life partner. And out of the topic , a question; what about your parents and relatives who have loved you for 18-20 years of life and still love you, won’t they feel cheated after you take that step. So what they all should suicide as you are thinking of? It is easy to just think about yourself, before going a step further think what will be the impact afterwards.

These are just beginning of life you are going to face in future. If you can’t handle such small pressure, if you can’t reply to one who is bullying you than you are a loser. Why not look for the best in you and find an answer, where you went wrong, how can you bring the one troubling you to justice, or prove that you are too good for someone who is leaving you.

Even if you get such thought you are turning yourself as a loser. But if you think you are a fighter you will grow up again and show the world what you are capable of, what you deserve and what others lost when they left. However if you can’t get over your past and keep thinking to suicide, mate( sorry I can’t address you as mate, you are too low to be addressed as mate) Man, go and die, if you can’t deal with these small stress right now what will happen afterwards? May be you will have your own family by then and your same step at that time will murder other few life. We don’t want such fails in world.

What if you failed,
What if you lost,
What if someone left you,
That is not the end,
World is too beautiful to leave it.

This is just the beginning,
You can change things for yourself,
There is no word impossible
If you will to, don’t take such step,
Everyday is too exciting to miss.

Someone left you,
They must have a justification,
Your capability is your strength,
You can get so many better things,
Your life is short enough from what you can live.

Bring yourself together,
Evaluate yourself,
Think about them who care for you,
Live for them.
World is too small to share your love.

And if you still unable to understand the value of life please watch this: A brave heart and an inspiration.

RIP  Brave-heart.

What happened to us?

INDIA:  Again 3 Yr. old raped; 6 Yr found with slitted throat, raped possible; Sarbjeet singh died after attack in Pakistan  Coal-Scam and many more.

Recently us public has faced numerous phase which is result of mute governance of our government. Crime was never excluded from any society completely but if we consider incidents and accidents occurring in past few months it won’t be a hype to say that crime  is taking over our society. From rape to harassment, murder to acid attack, Bribery to scam worth millions-billions of $’s is being faced, observed and reported daily. There has been no control; no fear among the criminals and no safety for common man in society, all we are heard from our so-called rulers is few promises(always part of politics to win public heart); consoling words (to make us feel they are from us, for us) and when that is not enough, another problem( inflation) to keep us lost in our day-to-day to life.

In the disgraceful incident of 16 December (Delhi) when public protest was on hype and all media attention was on it, two Indian soldiers were slaughtered and got all attention magnetized  Public support went down from the rape issue and the public pressure on government came down in control. It was not long when again protests almost got ignited by the 5-year-old incident, public support were building up, government and police were under pressure and public scanner but again Sarabjeet (Indian prisoner in Pakistan  was attacked with bricks and all and sending him in coma. Attention of media was distracted to this (As always India-Pakistan based issues are more discussed with a rare chance of any outcome) and pressure on Government slipped away as before. And then again 6-yr girl was found with slitted throat and possibly raped. Incident happens once but these coincidence can’t be digested easily. People like Sarabjeet is more likely to be the collateral damage and being used as platform by our so called would be young leader. If you just put some logical thoughts over back to back incidents; [Internal incidents → Public pressure → international incidents → public pressure moves; Media attention on international issues → Internal incidents →→→] it feels it is all going round in a circle . Ruling Party is justifying them-self in whichever way they can and opposition is blaming them in every possible way. Only result we as public can feel is a student lost between mathematics question paper as unable to solve jumping between question to question.

I am not trying to create any controversy or blame someone but can it be possible that all what is happening around is a part of big political game before the elections; Using inverse plan ‘If you can’t score better, make other score low’; trying to keep their clothes clean etc.?  Or a conspiracy?

High level MP’s are asking about if there name is in XYZ scam and from IPS to SP’s involved in crimes, Would be ministers with dark backgrounds and social leaders dividing us on name of religion in so called secularist country. A country boasting to have second highest fastest growing economy is also facing low literacy rate; a market being considered as the best place to invest for business also facing  high level of poverty and jobless People. The huge margin between Upper, Medium, Low and No income families is just unbelievable and government think that by reservation scheme (up to 50%) before and after employment can solve this all. A country known for it culture is more in talk for incidents like rape, violence against women and government negligence. Fast track court are there in paper but in such courts cases are pending for years. A new rule book is made but loop holes can be easily seen. MP’s not supporting  laws which asks for punishment of a person on high chair as it can be them; and many more.

Where are we heading, I don’t know? Where I am heading I don’t know but one thing I feel that Indian Govt is taking a walk back! India is losing its dignity, its pride with all what is happening. Hearing comment like ‘ all Indian are pervert’ from another Indian is not very pleasing; Seeing fellow friends canceling there trip to India is heart breaking.

Still I am positive about the future, Hoping for a rule to consider the degrade we have faced and uplift us, Assuming change and see a society with high and open mentality that we can again say “WE ARE PROUD TO BE INDIAN”.
